Do you have a wish?

A daruma is a traditional Japanese wishing doll, often used as a lucky charm because it's believed to make any wish come true. It's a cultural artifact that's been around for hundreds of years, but is still popular and loved to this day in Japan.

This miniature version stands at 2 inches tall and is easy to carry around in your bag or purse, or to display on your desk.

How to use:

  1. Fill in the left eye by drawing in a round eyeball in the center of the white circle with a marker while making a wish or setting a goal (you can also use choose to use the enclosed eyeball sticker instead. *Pictured tweezers are not included*).
  2. Then, fill in the right eye after your wish comes true, or your goal has been achieved. A daruma with both eyes filled in is a proof of achievement and gratitude, and can also be used as a talisman in the house.

The color of each daruma can have symbolic meanings and can represent the category of your wish:

  • Red: Gives strength, energy, improves physical health.
  • Gold: Brings success and luck with finances.
  • Yellow: Enhances focus, brings in positivity.
  • Green: Relieves stress, improves mental & physical health.
  • Pink: Helps with mental healing, positivity in romance and love.
  • Purple: Helps call forth creativity or inspiration.
  • Blue: Promotes calmness, helps build trust and reliability.
  • White: Hope, helps with problem solving.

They make great gifts for new businesses, graduations, get-well, etc!

As these are hand-painted, each face and expression may differ. Feel free to draw a different expression on your daruma. You can also write messages on them, or words of encouragement with a marker. The point is to have fun with them!

The daruma is designed as a okiagari-koboshi, which means even if you knock it down, it will get right back up. This symbolizes resilience and strength - the Buddhist principle of Nanakorobi Yaoki, which means falling down seven times, but getting up eight.

Also included is an omikuji, a printed fortune slip that is included with each daruma. Read the message inside the small red box for your fortune.

Good luck, and may your dreams and wishes come true!
