Introducing the Juzu Bracelet Collection

A centuries-old Japanese tradition, reimagined for everyday life.

We’re excited to introduce the Juzu Bracelet Collection, a contemporary expression of traditional Japanese Buddhist prayer beads. Rooted in centuries of prayer, meditation, and reflection, Juzu bring together meaningful symbolism, natural materials, and Japanese craftsmanship in pieces designed to be worn and appreciated every day.

From naturally aged Japanese woods to hand-crafted Okinawa glass and traditional Kyoto textiles, each Juzu has its own distinctive character and story. While their materials and designs may differ, they share a common purpose: to carry a sense of tradition, intention, and quiet reflection into everyday life.

More Than a Bracelet

Juzu are traditional Japanese Buddhist prayer beads that have been used by monks and practitioners for centuries during prayer, chanting, meditation, and reflection. Traditionally held in the hands, the beads can be used to count prayers or recitations while also serving as a physical reminder to remain focused and present.

Juzu bracelets offer a contemporary way to carry this tradition beyond formal practice. Worn around the wrist, they can serve as a quiet reminder to pause, reflect, and reconnect with your intentions throughout the day.

Each bracelet is thoughtfully crafted from carefully selected materials, with its own colors, textures, and natural characteristics. The result is a collection that celebrates not only the history of Juzu, but also the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship.

Indigo Mountain Cherry Blossom
- Bold, Natural & Deeply Japanese -

Crafted from natural mountain cherry wood, the Indigo Mountain Cherry Blossom Juzu combines the warmth of Japanese wood with the deep, distinctive color of traditional indigo dyeing.

The beads are dyed using Sho-Aizome, a traditional Japanese indigo dyeing technique. The resulting deep navy shade, known as Kachi-iro, or “Victory Blue,” has been associated with good fortune and triumph in Japan for centuries.

At 13mm, the substantial beads have a distinctive presence while retaining the natural beauty of the wood. They are left without a surface coating, allowing the wood to gradually develop a beautiful sheen and deeper character through regular wear.

As one of the best-selling Juzu, the Indigo Mountain Cherry Blossom is a striking yet understated expression of Japanese craftsmanship, appreciated for its rich color, natural character, and timeless aesthetic.

Yakusugi Cedar Engraved Heart Sutra
- Rich with History & Meaning -

Few Japanese woods carry the history and character of Yakusugi cedar.

This Yakusugi Cedar Engraved Heart Sutra Juzu is crafted from rare Yakusugi cedar from Yakushima Island, a wood prized for its remarkable age, rarity, and distinctive natural grain. Because living Yakusugi trees can no longer be cut, the cedar used today comes from naturally fallen or buried trees, making each piece particularly unique.

The 10mm beads are individually engraved with portions of the Heart Sutra, one of the central texts of Mahayana Buddhism. When worn as a complete circle, the beads come together to carry the full sutra, creating a beautiful connection between Buddhist tradition and everyday reflection.

With its naturally beautiful cedar, intricate engraving, and deep historical roots, this Juzu is an especially meaningful piece for anyone who appreciates craftsmanship with a story behind it.

Okinawa Green Firefly
- A Luminous Expression of Japanese Artistry -

For something more contemporary, the Okinawa Green Firefly Juzu offers a striking interpretation of Japanese craftsmanship.

Each bead is made from handcrafted Okinawa artisan glass, combining a deep black base with vivid green highlights and silver foil. As the light catches the glass, the silver creates a subtle shimmer, while the green seems to glow against the dark background - reminiscent of a firefly on a summer night.

Because each bead is individually handcrafted, no two bracelets are exactly alike. Small variations in color, pattern, and texture are part of what gives each piece its character.

The combination of luminous green, reflective silver, and deep black creates a sophisticated Juzu that feels distinctly Japanese while offering a modern aesthetic.

Kyoto Chirimen Japanese Kimono
- Traditional Textile, Reimagined -

The Kyoto Chirimen Japanese Kimono Juzu brings the artistry of traditional Japanese textiles into an unexpected and contemporary form.

Chirimen is a traditional Japanese crepe fabric long associated with kimono, accessories, and decorative crafts. For this Juzu, colorful textile patterns are incorporated into each bead and preserved beneath a smooth, clear exterior.

The result is a beautiful meeting of textile tradition and modern design. Intricate patterns remain visible beneath the polished surface, allowing the character of the original fabric to shine through while creating a bracelet designed for everyday wear.

With its vibrant colors and distinctive Japanese character, the Kyoto Chirimen Juzu is a natural choice for those drawn to textiles, pattern, and the artistry of traditional kimono.

Japanese Hinoki Cypress
- Simple, Natural & Made for Everyday Wear -

For a quieter expression of Japanese craftsmanship, the Japanese Hinoki Cypress Juzu celebrates the natural beauty of one of Japan’s most beloved woods.

Hinoki cypress has long been valued in Japan for its pale grain, gentle fragrance, and connection to temples, shrines, architecture, and traditional crafts. Here, its understated character takes center stage.

The smooth 7mm beads make this Juzu lightweight and comfortable for everyday wear, while the natural wood will gradually develop a warmer, deeper tone with time.

As with all natural wood, variations in grain, color, and texture make every bracelet unique. Simple and beautifully understated, the Hinoki Juzu is a piece that becomes increasingly personal as it ages.

Each Juzu is carefully handcrafted using time-honored techniques and thoughtfully selected materials. The result is something more meaningful than a conventional accessory - a piece of Japanese craftsmanship that can serve as a quiet reminder to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the present.
